Dear Chase,
Your cover of Yellow holds a special place in my heart. I grew up with no siblings, cousins, or friends. I've had grandparents and a hardworking dad, but I've never had a close bond with them. My mom used to be a housewife and until I met my girlfriend, my mom was the closest person I had.
After I turned the age of 8, she realized I need "somebody" who was capable of fulfilling the role of a friend/sibling in my life. Since my mom had a complex surgery when she gave birth to me, doctors had advised her not to make another baby. Since we weren't financially strong to adopt a child, she decided to adopt a black cat for me. I named her, "Jullie". She lived with me from 2007 to 2020.
A few months after I adopted her, I spoke to her first owner and I came to know Jullie and I are birthday twins. Within a few days after her adoption, Jullie and I became very good buddies. She followed me everywhere I went. I remember she used to walk behind me whenever I went to my music class, stay outside until I finished my lessons, and come out. Some days were raining heavily, and although Jullie gets drenched in rain, she always waited for me.
Years passed and I realized Jullie has become my own sister. She was there for me whenever I needed her. I dealt with depression and nobody could understand the pain I was going through, not even my mom could understand me, but Jullie did. She always stood by my side.
In May 2020, we realized her belly was bigger than usual. So, we immediately took her to the vet and he told us Jullie's liver had bloated. My family did our very best to treat her, but just 20 days after her diagnosis she passed away right in front of me. I was lucky enough to be there for her, hold her hand and tell her how much she meant to me. About 15 minutes later, I saw her very last heartbeat.
We built a small casket and buried her in our garden. That night I decided to listen to your version, but it hit me differently that night. The lyrics, the music... everything about this version of Yellow reminded me of the beautiful 12½ years I lived with my sister, Jullie.

...still makes me emotional. Thank you Chase for this beautiful rendition of Coldplay's Yellow! You have no idea how much it means to me.
