The Story of Mr. Hopp's Playhouse 1 & 2 Explained

Mr. Hopp's Playhouse tells a twisted story full of mystery and interpreation set across two games. The sequel Mr. Hopp's Playhouse 2 is in fact a prequel to the original story. Something that makes Dee’s story even more disturbing is that wasn’t just a matron she killed. It was her mother. Dee killed her own mother and said, “She deserved it.”

Unrelated to the lore but, I love the small details that Molly truly cares about Esther like when she asks Esther what she’s going to call Mr. Hopp and volunteers to count in playing hide and seek at the end

Fun fact: when you get the fourth tape in Mr hopps playhouse 1 then go to ruby's room you can see miss bo and Mr stripes in her bedroom window.

It’s amazing how Esther is hardly scared of them at all.

Fun fact: In the original game, Ruby was supposed to have an actual handgun instead of a slingshot.

There was a theory that Ruby had shot her parents in a blind rage and used Mr. Hopp as a cover story for her actions.

I think when I watched Manly's playthrough, it showed that even though Ester escaped in the end, the entity did one last action: although it didn't harm her, it wiped her memories of the horrors it inflicted during that short time. That's why she kept the doll around- the only memory she probably had left was when she picked it up and named it but nothing else. At that point, the Entity stayed dormant until just before the first game, and... well, we know the rest...

I feel bad for Esther, she went through all of the pain to end like that. I wonder what happend to her friends? Molly and Isaac. I hope in the third game it introduce us to them but old now.
