It works! I was doing the lettuce already but cucumbers were not lasting for a week’s meals until I did this plus I moved them to the top shelf instead of the veg drawers at bottom of fridge where is coldest. Thank you! You saved me a lot of money on wasting cucumbers!

😃 " WOW!.... I like Your tip. I had stopped buying ' Fresh Produce ' from the supermarkets. because It too often went bad if not used the same or next day. What I also like about your quick and easy tip is how well It applies to a variety of Vegetables. I needed some effective storage advice and will, definitely, try this method. Thank You! "

I used to do that but now my kitchen is non-plastic so I use glass containers. I bring my own washable produce bags to the store. I have guinea Pigs so a lot of lettuce. The damp towel method you describe really does work.

If you line a storage container with a paper towel and store your berries and other cut produce, it works the same way. I will cut strawberries and this has saved us sooo much because they always go bad within a few days but this way they last at least a week.

I stumbled upon your channel and so very glad I did. I never knew this so Thank You for sharing. In all honesty I have thrown out so much produce it so much so I stopped buying it unless I knew I would use it within a day or two. I LOVE fresh produce and I am excited to put your tip to use. Thanks again, much appreciated 😊

My grandmother always put wet paper towels around produce in plastic bags. Yet another thing the older generations knew that we have lost.

Thank You for the tip, I too put a wet paper towel over my celery and it can stay for about two weeks.

I am definitely going to try this. I stopped buying vegetables because they just go bad so fast and I don't eat them fast enough. Thank you for the video.

For years I've done something similar with lettuce, it'll last a couple of weeks.
I feel off the outer leaves, wash the
Whole head, wrap completely with paper towels then put on a produce bag from the grocery, and twist tie.
But I've never done the cucumber trick, will have to use that, thank you.

Thanks for the tip. I will try your method. Also, I am wondering what's the reason why cucumbers and zucchinis in the platic wrapped trays from supper markets get moldy after about days. I see this happens when they are left outside or even in the refrigerator.

Exactly as mother always stored her fresh produce, I do the same. It definitely works!
