Great video! One more tip: add two tablespoons of white vinegar to a bowl of water. Dip all your berries and fruits in this then let them dry on a clean towel before putting into the fridge. It kills the bacteria that causes them to rot. They should last longer. You won’t taste the vinegar once they are dry.

I soak all my fruits/veggies in a big bowl of vinegar+water. The berries last longer plus it removes pesticides and cleans the produce. Love your videos.

Thanks for this video! 😊 There are also ways to refresh wilted, shriveled veg - e.g. Put wilted leaves in a bowl of water, some ice cubes and couple hours in the fridge and they'll expand and be nice and crunchy again. The same for soft wrinkly root vegetables carrots, radishes etc. (no ice cubes needed). Carrots are also best stored in a jar with some water like the asparagus in the video. Also make sure to see if at least part of a fruit or vegetable can be saved.

My lettuce I also keep in a plastic box in my fridge with paper towels in between layers. It can last over a week. I use a big box and keep kale and all leafy greens.

I ferment some foods or dehydrate them if I see them not looking so good. Then when I want to slow cook a roast, I put them into a crockpot with my fermented vegetables, herbs and it is delicious.

Anothertip is you canstore leafy veggies with a papertowel between theleaves to absorb moisture after washing and they will last forever. Also blue apple is really helpful in absorbing co2!

nuts go rancid. I keep all nuts and seeds, basically anything that contains oil, in the fridge. Also, somewhere I got the tip of putting a paper towel in the container of spinach to absorb the moisture. I take some out and shake the closed container for air to circulate before placing the paper towel on top and then close. Keeps so much longer.

If you wrap salads in some wet kitchen paper, they last longer. Kale can be washed and frozen in a bag without the stems. It crumbles easily when you take it out to use on salads or in smoothies.

Unwashed berries in a mason jar in the fridge lengthens the life and keeps things like grapes more “crisp”. Lettuce 🥬 washed chopped and put in a reusable ziplock with a paper towel and then not sealed all the way keeps it and makes it easy to grab for salads too. The cilantro trick works for most of the other fresh herbs too. I keep my onions in the veggie drawer, makes you not cry while chopping. Nuts in mason jars and in the fridge too!

If you wrap moist vegetables or veg with high water content, in tin foil, silver foil it will last and keep fresh two times longer, the foil keeps moisture in the veg stops it from escaping, try it
