How to FIX BROKEN R2 + L2 Buttons on PS4 CONTROLLER (Button Replacement)

Is your PS4 Controller R2 or L2 button sticking or just not working in general? In this video, I am going to show you how to take apart your PS4 controller and replace your broken button. Taking apart your PS4 controller is rather easy, you will need a small scrw driver and about 10 minutes of time.

I've had to repair my dualshock 4 controller about 5 times since I've bought it. If I didn't by extra buttons, I would have just threw away the controller and bought a new one, so this guide can save you money. And don't be afraid to try this out, it's easy! Just be careful and move slow.

Saved me $65. I’ll admit I was a little intimidated to take a PS4 controller apart but everything stays in the front area and swapping out an R2 button with a broken peg was super easy. Got a 5 pack of L2/R2 buttons and springs off Amazon for $7 and went ahead and bought a TX9 so I can clean the dust out from my console using your other video. Thank you 😊

My problem is that when I play racing games my r2 doesn't let my car have the full accerlation it makes the rpm goes slow.

the main trouble i was having was in removing one of the trigger buttons from the bottom side of the clamshell, exactly as it happened to you in your video. Regardless of my method to remove the button, it remained adamant in its place. The spring associated with it however, had come lose so it was imperative that the trigger button be removed so that the spring can be replaced. Only after watching your helpful video was it clear that there was a slight trick to removing it; and once the said trick was employed, removing the trigger ceased to be an obstacle. Thank you very much for this freely provided knowledge.

I bought a pair of trigger extenders I didn't realize that you had to disassembled the actual controller to put them in and install them but after watching this video I feel really confident thanks

My R2 button was locked open and I used this video to fix it. My controller is a 2018 model I believe and the spring is in a different location but this video still helps a lot.

Thanks for the vid! I solved my problem by using a q-tip and rubbing alchool on the black transparent pads near the R2 button for anyone else trying to fix their controller

Now I've got 4 controllers, 1 not even out the box. I might have to send that to amazon now and order a pack of buttons and springs.

I stepped on my DualShock and the L2 button popped out. Thankfully the spring was still intact, so all I had to do was open the controller to be able to snap the button back in, and this video helped me do it.

I didn't even have to get replacement buttons. My L2 was just faulty and barely registers. After opening it and checking the button itself and underneath it, it suddenly worked fine. Thanks for the instructions! Your controller is so much easier to prise open compared to mine.
