How to convert binary to hexadecimal

This video is a step by step guide on how to convert binary into hexadecimal.

Here's the method:

From right to left, split the binary code into groups of 4 bits.
Write the correct base 2 headings above each group of binary code.
Work out the decimal value of each group of binary code.
Change any of the decimal values that are above 9 into the corresponding hex code.

For those who get confused as from step 2, just know that he basically took the binary digits ( 0101) and converted to decimal by doing the following ...
~ attribute powers to the binary digits start from the right to the left and giving em powers of Zero till wherever u end.
( 0^3, 1^2, 0^1, 1^0 )

~ Now take each digit, multiply by the base number you are converting to (base 2 so we're gonna use 2) then raise the 2 to the power you which was previously allocated to that binary digit.
( 0 x 2^3 ) + ( 1 x 2^2) + ( 0 x 2^1) + (1x2^0) .

= 0 + 4 + 0 + 1 and that's how he got

( 4 + 1 = 5 ) in the first chunk of binary digits.
