found a small model of the Dark Star aircraft several months back, in a Price Cutters store. made by Matchbox Sky Busters, it looks almost exactly the same as the one shown in this video, except it has a grey pattern that starts from the back of the cockpit, and ends past the fins at the back of it.
it even says "Top Gun: Maverick" on the box itself, it's a cool looking plane.

Ngl, after seeing "Top gun Maverick" the dark star scene is absolutely beautiful. Not only in design but how visible it is through the sky

I also now believe being the Ace characters are somewhat possible if it were to happen irl

I'm not sure if you noticed ACF, but the design for the Dark Star actually seems to bear a slight resemblance to an updated version of Testors' "F-19" model kit, a design they created themselves based on rumors of the F-19 fighter project (which wound up being nothing, but the F-117 that came later was of a similar suspected role).
