To the people that are either sad or mad at the release of the 5000 series this soon after the 4000 series i say this. REJOICE! youve got a great case that performs really well and looks pretty sick. Plus the new ones are WAY more expensive for pretty much no reason. 4000D airflow 94.99$ the 5000D airflow 164.99 the 5000x is 204.99

When i saw the side-front fan area I was shocked. Amazing that corsair managed to do that in a case.

I went from a Corsair 600T to this 5000D and it cooled my already cool INTEL 10700k cpu and NVME drive by 8 C . Also when stress testing my cpu, it reduced the temperatures 9 C also ( cpu now 60 C under stress test ). The fact that my cpu was cooler was great, but I was shocked it made my NMVE drive cooler also. I would HIGHLY HIGHTLY HIGHLY recommend this case if you want one of the top pc cooling cases ever made.

Mounting the SSD behind the motherboard made the SSD temperature only go up 1 to 2 C ; so not bad. A very high quality case with lots of configuration and cable management option.

If using less than 5 ssd, I would only use the two front mounts and the one rear mount plus the cover behind the motherboard. Or mount three SSD's behind the motherboard. That will make it easier to cable manage the cords from the power supply.

Also, with the two included fans plus three CORSAIR - Air Series LED AF120 fans in front, the case is near dead silent. Even when stress tested, and the fans running near full speed, they are really quiet.

4000 series was corsairs first new step in case design, it needed a lot of tweeking. i remember most of the reviews about the 4000 airflow and this here shows they listened! 5000 looks great and has all the stuff that was needed after the 4000 water tester. extended rad support, modular design for multiple configurations, dual type A front ports as type A is still the leading usb port. the redesign on the rear side of the case i think is amazing.

Seeing that they raised the height and redesigned the top, I believe this is mostly to replace the 4000d. The 4000d (while great) actually has a major design flaw. If mounting a 280mm aio on top, you can only (mostly) use low profile RAM like their LPX lineup. Not even their own Vengeance and Dominator sticks will fit.

Just ordered the black airflow because my 680x is just too narrow for radiators and has terrible airflow. the 680x looks good and for a less demanding build would probably be easier to cool but the 5000d looks great for a watercooled build.

The 200R case needs to be updated with PWM fans, USB C up front, more access to CPU power plugs and maybe a lower shroud. Great case but it is dated. Top and side door vents need to have an option to cover them for those who don't need them or offer the case without vents. Most hardware today doesn't require as much air flow as in the past.
