Corsair 5000D Airflow vs. Solid Case Review: Thermals, Noise, Build Quality

Показать описание
Corsair appears to be listening & improving. Corsair's 5000D Airflow & 5000D non-Airflow cases are in for review, benchmarked vs. the 4000D, Silent Base 802, Lancool 215, and many more.

The Corsair 5000D has two variants: The 5000D Airflow and 5000D solid panel, and we're benchmarking and reviewing both in this one content piece. This also talks about the differences between the Corsair 4000D and 5000D because, although the names make them look sequential, they're actually intended to both simultaneously exist and target different audiences. The latest of 4000D & 5000D PC cases from Corsair is a reprisal of the old Obsidian line, and Corsair appears to be back on track to improve its overall product quality in the case market. It's been a while since they've had good ones back-to-back, so that's good to see. Recent competitors would include the be quiet! Silent Base 802, the Fractal Meshify 2 & XL, Lian Li Lancool II Mesh, Phanteks P500, and similar.

"We don't have too many problems with this one." Now that's a glowing recommendation if I ever heard one.

Quite the smoldering gaze Steve is giving in the thumbnail there 😘

The cutouts on that case remind me of the metal furniture my Grandma had on her porch back in the 80's. Not really a knock against the case, just brought back memories.

I have the 5000x and wanted the airflow panels and tried to order them and it was a 3 week process to just get them to ship and they randomly came in and out of stock. I messaged Corsair about it and they sent me both panels for free in a week. Mad props to them and I will continue buying Corsair parts for sure.

Looks like Corsair is finally living up to the _air_ part of their name.

CORSAIR: This new case comes with two front panels. A solid panel and a "Leave us alone, dammit, Steve" panel.

Steve: "Bout time!

Thanks Steve. Just want you to know that having these reviews out here is still helpful years later!

I bet the guy in design was watching and lost his mind when Steve called out the attention to detail. Good on Steve for making this a point in his video, as the person responsible will get the much deserved feedback and for most people in this field thats all they want.

It would be great for the case reviews if you would add a category populating all of the fan mounts in the case. That way we would know how well the case performs in the best case scenario.

I definitely love how they’re listening to the reviews and improving. Definitely the case I’ll be grabbing. Thanks Gamer’s nexus

Adding this to my “List of cases to recommend to people when they’re building a PC”.

Others on that list: Lian Li Meshcool II, Phantecks 400A

This is the first time I’ve ever seen Steve be genuinely impressed with a case and it was made by Corsair lmao what are the odds

You can tell how much better it is by how Steve looks so happy in the intro.

Just to say, I would like to see a test of air flow cases fully populated with fans to see the full potential of the cases design. I don’t know a single person who buys a case to use stock fans or put 3 fans in a case that can hold 10, wouldn’t it be more poignant to not recommend this case if you barely intend to take advantage of the air flow? These cases are called air flow so why not fully test the main selling point instead of a semi air flow test.

Recently picked up this case, used a Thermaltake TH360 AIO and filled every avaliable spot with Thermaltake CT120 fans, everything runs super cool now and this case was great to build in.

the one guy from corsair likely appreciates the callout for having an eye for detail. the marketing team perhaps less so about being called out for value :)

The temps at stock, even with the solid front panels, is super impressive. Nice to see some actual engineering and thought going into allowing a certain visual style to do a decent job at cooling.
I also really like the visual design of this case. I'm not in the market for a new case, but I still like it. :P

I got into PCs right when Corsair were first making waves in the Case market, so it’s nice to see them finally back on form after around half a decade of duds.
