As an american I can say I'm honestly jealous. Sure because of the gold but also to have a city, or even a country, be this patriotic towards their hockey team. I have notice as of lately that the US is beginning to take steps in the right direction... but baby steps. Your country is so great in hockey, and it would be great to call you "rivals" as opposed to just saying "We played you and one once, off of sheer luck."

It's like everyone in Vancouver was watching the game at the same time.
AWESOME.

A sport that can make a whole nation roar... the wonders of hockey

@lonewolf604 A Stanley Cup win would be that loud for a city, but never a country. All across Canada cities were loud like that, all at the same time, that's amazing.

No other sport could do this to a whole country besides soccer but no country has a bond to soccer like we do to hockey i was downtown Vancouver for all of this best day of my life.

It was incredible. The streets in Toronto were so packed that my bus took an hour just to get out of the city!

The game was over at that point. Everyone's out in the streets celebrating the win.
I watched that game too. It was epic. Exactly how a gold medal game between two nations who dominate a sport should be.
And I was secretly rooting for Canada. I thought it was only appropriate that they finish out the historical winning streak Alex began.

This is Vancouver? What a great view, wherever it is. A great day for Canada. Can you imagine what the closing ceremonies would have been like had they lost? Lots of polite applause.

Only 2.5 million Americans follow hockey out of 340 million. We have nothing in common with Americans. 80% of Canadians watched this game!

@Galactic123 We DID totally lose our minds!!! In Northern Ontario, we could have fired a cannon down main street! Time stood still, but when CANADA won GOLD??!!! OMG!! Even the cops were LOSING it!!
NO cars went down my road during the game, but after about 5 or 10 min. or so., all of a sudden, horns honking, brakes squealing, ... etc!!! CELEBRATION time!!!
