This is why we need NHL players in the Olympics.

It was his destiny to make that shot. His entire life his growing up, his hockey career, his entire life he was meant to be the guy to make that shot.

That golden goal brought all of canada together. We all cheered and celebrated for the same team. My favourite goal in history of hockey.

3:23 made me smile. Was so expecting Sid to say “never watched the replay” or something like that and he’s just like a lot lmao

I was at work at a gas station when he scored, my boss let me bring a TV in with bunny ears too watch the game. When he scored all i could hear was honking and people cheering in the streets. Was an amazing Canadian moment.
Lived in nova scotia at the time.
Go Crosby !

Has there ever been a more humble superstar in sports? he is thankful and feels lucky for everything he has done and accomplished. LEGEND

0:43 I love the fact that to this day he is visibly uncomfortable watching a loss. This guy is the consummate, competitive professional! Equally as good a person too.

Same as James Sweeney: lived in NYC all my life (go Rangers: went to two game 7's in the 90's that we won) but was never so happy in my life when Crosby and Canada won. That is THEIR sport: kids who can barely walk skate on frozen ponds. Our guys are Brady and his 6 S.B.'s, Tiger Woods and his 82 wins (5 Masters), my N.Y. Yankees with Mantle and Jeter, and Michael Jordan and LeBron playing on concrete schoolyard courts. Canadians are the most amazing, likeable, friendly people. They are our neighbors. We had the Miracle On Ice, so this was their turn. Anyway, just MHO

I was watching from Robson square with my dad, the silence waiting for OT to start was deafining! No one moved, talked or cheered. “IG!!” will be burned in my brain forever! Best game ever.

I still get chills by watching it every now and then, as a Canadian and a Pittsburgh Penguins fan, it cannot be any better to see your favourite NHL player to score the Golden Goal !

For me, it can never get any better than this hockey wise..
Yes i would love for the Canucks to win a Cup, but that wouldn't match Olympic gold, on my home ice, in overtime, against the Americans. That was just the stuff of dreams that can not be bettered.
A perfect moment, full stop.
Thank you Sid, thank you Iggy, thank you Lou, thank you to all the amazing players on that beautiful team playing our beautiful game!

I was in the air during the game flying home from volunteering at those Olympics. People were gathered around TV's at the airport. Every screen was showing the game. Everyone was watching. During the flight the captain was giving us goal updates including the late US goal and overtime. When we landed, the fire hoses were out on the tarmac spraying water salutes and everyone was cheering and going nuts. Amazing and super special moment in Canadian history. Will never forget it.

3:27 Sid: "I've never watched the actual full game". Yes Sid, you have, you were IN the game.
