Enjoy the ups and down of my new Timberborn Badwater (Update 6) playthrough, this time with the Iron Teeth and a much harder map start. This series has it all: drama, stress, jubilation...these beavers are going to face every disaster and (hopefully!) survive! :-)

It was all going so well. It’s like watching the fall or the Roman Empire, Inca Nation, and Maya in real time. Oh how the mighty fall😂

This was like watching a slow motion train wreak, seeing it play out was hilarious

That was a proper adventure!
My suggestion is that you've got stockpiles of wood etc and you are in an unusual position of having the infrastructure, but no beavers so all other resources do not matter beyond food and water.
I would turn off breeding pods and use only the advanced pods whilst you've got your stockpiles of extract. Save on having to use that precious water + supporting baby beavers whilst getting new workers back.
Focus on food that requires no processing - berries, mangrove fruits, kohlrabies.
Once you've got a stable population then you can start supporting more diversity, so focus on the processing with simplest things first - cassava (+ fermenting). Then over time you can start adding back in anything that requires the canola oils.
Good luck! I want to see what you have planned so I hope you can rescue this.

you can build all the pumps you like. as long as as there is no storage nearby it doesn’t help. beavers spend more time walking from the pumps to the storage than actually pumping water. same with your food production. you need to have input and output storage close by

Hey Biffa, instead of placing Lost of pumps...try improving efficiency...they were all super low, that means that they are spending lots of time traveling to deposit water

Why you ran out of water? Each beaver takes roughly 2 water/day, meaning 200 beaver coplony takes 400/day (and that's not counting farming/production/breeding). Each water pump produces 3 water/hr, which in 12hr work day would result in 36 water/day per pump. That means you need 11 water pumps tu sustain 200 beavers for one day (and that's only water rations). I was mentioning in one of previous comments, that with groing population you'll need more water pumps, cause Ironteeth don't have large pumps producing 15 water/hr with 3 beavers. So you need more. What coulod have save you there? Slowing speed, which would give you a lot's of more time (don't get that insistance on max time speed, especially in crisis, where first hing should be pause, and look what's going on). Increasing wor hours to 24. that would give you 72 water/day per pump. Adding more water pumps (which you did).
Regardng food. Not beeing mean, just observing. You don't understand production chain. You had arounf 2k of eggplant and soybeans. Why? Because both of them require canola oil to prduce edible food, and you had around 30 patches farming canola. Pretty much best food for Ironteeth, requiring only farming and fermenter, are cassavas, where you get 10 fermented from 4 cassavas, and they take 5 days to grow. You have 6 storages still without goods selected to store them (since 6, 7 episodes? more?). Why not use them to store food when you have overabundance? Beavers won't harvest/produce without free storage space. All of that could have been filled wit food/preproducts still growing on farmed land.
I'm not sure how RCE will one up this one.

I've been so far behind on videos and this is where I get left....lol....can't wait to see you bring this back!

Possibly the most entertaining episode of Timberborn I’ve watched on YouTube, ahh the ever decreasing number of beavers counting down from 190+ to 8! Ghost town should be the new name for Kettleborn.

So you got your own version of Real Civil Engineer's "The Incident" xD Believe me, I had such an incident while playing Timberborn the first time and I had also so few beavers surviving.

Through this series, I always thought you had too few water pumps or not enough water tanks standing right next to them so they could pump constantly.

I think I'd have fallen into the same trap with the food because I'm not familiar with Iron Teeth. I believe to recover from this, focus on the most basic food source to get the base and rethink the chain production; making sure you have places where you can dump the ingredients next to food factories and output storage next to it. It should allow constant production.
Then it's the question of how many haulers you may need. Perhaps swap builders to haulers now and then when the builders have nothing to do.

I feel like almost all of the city builder & management sim players I've watched play Timberborn have some terrible near-colony death at some point - RCE, CPP, KoS, and now Biffa. Makes for good viewing I suppose but it's very amusing given how avoidable these types of things are. I trust it can be turned around though! I want to see a 200+ beaver colony which is thriving

You know what you can do (don't know if it works that way) have a large watertank and warehouse completely filled with food and water, then block the entrance and cut the path, so you have like emergency rations stored, that they won' access and use unless necessary.

if you survive that is👀👀👀👀

You could place your ladders more efficient. Like at your housing complex you got the ladder at the far end of the path wich is unnessesary far to walk.

You can place the ladder on the path and have the path go though the ladder tile.
The beavers can enter the ladder from any side exept the side where the ladder is, so rotate that up against a wall and you can keep the path along the wall.

This week on Teamberborn, Biffa learns that prioritizing everything BUT food and water has consequences.

What's the point of having 2 massive reservoirs if you aren't trying to pump them dry?

You need a lot more canola oil, which requires more oil pressors

17:07 there used to be stairs in the back of the corn field, so it could be harvested from above, but it got lost in a botched mod update episodes ago

Biffa, you get so occupied in your projects. You got to manage the colony, food, water, population, etc.

Enjoying this series. Consider swapping out the pods that only produce adult beavers. Think you need to increase the areaa growing crops, extend the work day until you get more food in. Have the bots, making bots, so they build all day.

Create a new place for canola. Have beavers collecting metal because you need it to make bots.

Start collecting materials for the bad water caps. Build bridges to help beaver reach areas to build from the top.
