These Duggar Children Have Cut Ties With Parents! (Counting On)

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar raised their 19 kids in a devout Baptist home, which came with a host of strict and questionable guidelines. And with a family this size, there's bound to be some arguments. But over the years, as more scandals tarnished the Duggars’ reputation, many of their children have seemingly distanced themselves from their parents and the stricter guidelines they had to abide by in childhood.

I am so happy that those kids have cut ties with their parents. I am glad they have their own opinions and that they have their own beliefs. I just finished Jill's book and the hell that her parents put her and her sisters through. It is so horrible!

Goes to show you every family has skeleton’s in their closet. Religion does not exclude them. Good to see some of their kids moving away from that toxic mentality and living the life they want with their spouses.

This is not like any baptist church I have ever known of. They act more Pentecostal to me. They give the baptist church a bad reputation.

I’m so happy for the kids that grew up to have their own opinions and beliefs ❤

Can you imagine being brought up by a misogynistic, controlling father, a dimwitted, brainwashed mother and a pedophile for an older brother. I watched the show for about 6 weeks and then my disgust for the parents stopped me from watching it ever again. I knew then that this family was hiding secrets and was dysfunctional. I wasn’t at all surprised when I later heard about the oldest son. Finally I felt relief to know that some of the girls have managed to break away and are living their own lives.

Jinger still has a relationship with her parents. It’s strained but she’s not banished like Jim Bob did with Jill.

Just to be clear--this is NOT Baptist. This is IBPL

Amy wore shorts, dated, all the ‘normal ‘ girl things, JB thought she was the ‘ wild ‘ child.

Jessa is still in IBLP with Dumbbob daddy. She's like the golden child now. Funny how she just announced her 5th pregnancy as soon as Jills book came out.

The older kids raised the younger kids the parents didn't.

I don’t blame the ones that left and severed ties with their parents they were robbed of a normal, healthy, childhood and had to raise their younger siblings and they grew up in a messed up environment. Went on T.V. and had to keep up appearances act like everything was OK.when it wasn’t even before we found out about Josh’s issues and a Father who covered for Josh and because of all of this the entire family was embarrassed and JimBob wonders why his kids want nothing to do with him.🤷🏼‍♀️

I used to watch the show until Jubilee was still born. I just don't understand why someone would have so many here I thought we Catholics only made large families 😂 some shady stuff going on here. Glad some of the married gals got out from under JB because he's a VERY toxic person. A woman reserves the right to turn down her husband if she doesn't want to have sexy time. I also feel that if the gals want to use birth control, they should do it 😊

Jill has 3 kids, Jinger has 2, most people do not consider that being a lot of kids.. Now Jessa has some kids!!

Why would you say Jill and Jinger have "large broods" when Jill and Derick have only had three kids in nine years of marriage and only had two for a long time, and Jinger and Jeremy have only had two kids in seven years of marriage?

Good for Amy!! I wonder if her girl cousins found the courage to follow her example. The girls have all said they have not stopped going to church or stop believing in God they know that most of the ridiculous rules are BS. I hope others Will follow in her footsteps
