It seems that this feature has been changed in the 2.91.0 version. There's a "Vertex Paint" mode (under sculpt mode), but I can't make it work. I would really appreciate an updated tutorial. Thanks askNK

What I don't understand is why you can paint vertices in sculpt mode, when you have a dedicated Vertex Paint Mode. I know it is a new paint tool, what why in Sculpt Mode?

Doesn't blender already have a vertex paint mode?
The new feature here is the "color filter", but I can't understand why vertex paint features moved to sculpt mode, maybe to paint in conjunction with face sets and masks?

I’ve been tempted towards a pen display. Been debating whether to get a Pen Display or buy licenses to substance painter or stick to Quixel for now and or get Marmosets Tool Bag. In any case the budget falls between $150 to $300. On a side note working on a laptop begs for a 2nd screen so a pen display in a way helps to that goal. Seems stepping up on the budget and waiting may yield a larger 1440p as an QHD option which would be ideal as use for a primary screen too. That’s way more expensive of course $800+.

Great stuff. I also read one of the biggest things for me in 2.9 will be NVLink support for Cyles. Meaning if you have two nVidia RTX GPU'S or more connected via NVLink they will share VRAM memory!

Can't get the paint to display with latest nightly build and enabling vertex shading mode like in the video. I notice my paint brush is a red ring instead of white like yours, strange.

I wonder if this didn’t make it into the Mac version? I have downloaded 2.9b and 2.91a and can’t find these options anywhere.. in fact the “none” tools are totally different tools

For some reason, this doesn't work for me unless I revert to factory settings. I've tried disabling all my addons to see if any of them are causing an interference, but I can't find the culprit.

doesnt seem to work anymore, nothing is displayed even with vertex colour selected in the view options. Also it's painting even with a very small brush freezes blender as soon as I start painting on a high poly sculpt.
