35 Years after the Fall of Berlin Wall – Where You Can Still See its Remains

The Berlin Wall used to divide the German capital. In West Germany, it was referred to as the "Wall of Shame," while GDR leadership in East Germany called it the "Anti-Fascist Protection Barrier."
When the wall fell on November 9, 1989, a new global political era dawned. The symbol of German division was torn down. We show you where today you can still see remains of the Berlin Wall.

I was recently at the East Side Gallery. It's crazy to think that people are still thinking of building walls to keep people apart! Good video.

The "hut" that was at Checkpoint Charlie when the wall came down (the one shown in many videos/film clips being lifted onto a truck to be taken away) is currently located in the Allied Museum in Clayallee to the south of Berlin. I saw it in 2023

I went shopping in East Berlin in 1986. I learned so much and I bought so much. Still have most of it. Rode the duty train both ways. The old bahnhof was a flea market. 😊

35 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, remnants of this iconic symbol of division still endure across the city of Berlin and beyond. Many sections of the Wall have been preserved as historical landmarks, offering a tangible connection to the past. The East Side Gallery, a 1.3-kilometer stretch of the Wall covered in vibrant murals, stands as both an open-air art gallery and a powerful reminder of the Wall's legacy. The Berlin Wall Memorial (Gedenkstätte Berliner Mauer) in the northern part of the city showcases a preserved stretch of the Wall along with an exhibition on the history of the division. Additionally, fragments of the Wall can be found in various parts of the world, serving as memorials to the Cold War and the struggles for freedom and reunification. These remains continue to evoke reflection on the challenges of the past and the ongoing pursuit of unity.

With best wishes,

Are the folks who built the AFPB so quickly still around? There may be a new contract going from Mexico to build something to keep those pesky Americans out of there as well. 🤔🙄

I’m sorry to compare India/Pakistan border to a country being split is just ridiculous and makes it sound like she has no idea what she’s taking about.
