6x M.2 NVMe SSD NAS! The Asustor Flashstor 6 (FS6706T)

Показать описание
This is the Asustor FS6707T 6x M.2 NVMe SSD NAS! The dual 2.5GbE ports can get over 500MB/s to one PC by selecting a single checkbox. As SSD prices drop, this might be one to look at for the #homelab

"6x M.2 & 2x2.5GB LAN" - Dead on Arrival. Let's hope next time they get it right with 2x10GBe.

Neat idea! Black magic has something similar. These things really need 10gb+ or a usb4 port

THIS is useless. One m2 ssd alone is capable of 2000MBps, so unless they strap a dual 10gb ethernet on there, this is quite pointless

Wait you said 6 nvme? Why only 550MB/s and not 30GB like my 4x nvme pcie gigabyte aorus master x570 came with. Thanks!

Why in the world would you hamper a device with six NVMe drives with a measily 2.5 gbps interface for? You're getting no more performance than you would out of a single 5400 rpm HDD! HEY INDUSTRY!!! GIVE US FASTER NETWORK INTERFACES ALREADY!!!!

How can you get so close and still miss the train... 2023 they should have at least a dual port (sfp+ or eth 10Gbe)
Givem the slump in ssd prices recently that would've been amazing

Patrick, are you guys planning on digging into various RAM configurations as part of the more in-depth testing? I'd like to maximize what this thing's capable of but your initial unsuccessful attempt at bumping it way up has me a bit gun shy

Why limit yourself to just two 2.5GB ports even in thi specific version of 6 port? do you have the possibility to have a very high bandwidth with nvme ssds and then put only two ports at 2.5gb? Why ? as other users above said already, for me it is dead on arrival

I mean, is the CPU fast enough for 6 m.2 drives. is CPU bottleneck still around?

The name doesn't really roll off the tongue. They need to send that back to marketing

So is this overkill for storing my Linux ISO's? lol

2.5gbe for 6 NVME drives? Sweet.... let's also just slap some golf cart tires on our Bugatti while we're at it.

Asus: Lets make a super fast 4x nvme NAS and cripple it with 2x2.5Gbps NICs!
Just stupid...

My diy nas (old ryzen cpu+ecc ram) with cheap mellanox 40gbe ethernet card easily hits over 1gbps read / write

And the price is how many thousands of dollars?😂

If they slapped on (2) 10-Gbps Ethernet ports and 3 HDMI ports and outfitted all the USB's to 3.2 and (4) USB-C 40's, then maybe this would be worth it.

I'd rather have sata flash with 2, 5gb networking
