Can felons own 🔫s!?

There have been many new cases and laws revolving around the Second Amendment lately... So what does that mean for felons?

In some states, including Texas, you can still own a 🔫 during a felony case until you are proven guilty. However, if you are proven guilty, you cannot own them any more.

After the Rahimi case, people with a civil restraining order against them (and no felony charges) can still own a 🔫 because they are NOT felons. However, if you don't follow your restraining order, a criminal charge can be pressed against you, which can make you a felon.

A felon in Texas can process a firearm after 5 years and the sentence has been totally completed. The firearm can only be kept in the home for self defence. Federal law still applies.

This is a class-based discrimination, and has been from the beginning.
If you have done your time, you should have ALL your rights back.
If you are a still a "danger to society, " you shouldn't be let out.

A year or two ago, and Oklahoma woman found out there was an arrest warrant for her for almost 20 years and was facing felony charges just because she didn't return a movie at a rental store that closed in the early 2000s. She's not the only one who's faced felony charges for not returning a movie to a rental store. Felonies need to be abolished. Once you served your time and you're no longer incarcerated come on you should have all of your inalienable rights back

I am certain that most of the people out here in the open part of the West who have been in jail still have direct access to firearms in their homes. Everyone has a right to protect themselves and their families despite the laws passed by gutless politicians in the past. I support restoring gun rights to any felon who did not use a weapon when involved in their crime or used one to hurt or threaten anyone. If you have not abused a firearm right you should not lose your firearm rights.

After 5 years of sentence expiration in Texas most felons can possess a firearm in their home only. One us are wrong, sorry for no citation but it’s easy to look up. Criminal justice is a deep rabbit hole.

Only pre-1898 or replicas that don’t use ammo shared by post 1898 guns are excluded from federal law

A Remington 1858 new model Army 44 caliber cap and Ball Pistol is not classed as a firearm.
Which is why you can buy one off the shelf with no paperwork.

I've always thought the way to disarm everyone is to make them felons. Nobody wants locked up for years so that'd make it real tempting for a lot of people to turn them in.

I understand a convicted felon can apply to have his rights restored seven years after his completed sentence. It may not be approved the first time but may be the second time. Is that true?

Technically A felon can possess Black powder pistols and rifles. There are some Black powder revolvers you can get but if you do get one remember to put your hammer down on an empty cylinder.
Also if you look at the historical analysis model at the time of the founding of our country, the only people who could not carry arms where Tories, people living in America that still held allegiance to the British Crown and any Native inhabitants, Native Americans or Indians, that had attacked American citizens. So basically people who committed violence upon the American population and people whose allegiance was to another country. So based on that History, Non-violent Felons should get their gun rights back as Soon as they finish their prison sentence.
I am not a lawyer and different states have different interpretations of what assault is, However, Technically speaking Assault is someone's fear of being hit or other physical violence while battery is actually hitting someone. So in many cases Assault is not technically a violent crime.

False..in Texas a felon can possess a firearm 5 years after sentence, whether doing time or probation, is officially completed and closed. Only stipulation is the firearms must only be for home defense, not for concealed or open carry

Felons can still possess antique firearms (a muzzleloader that doesn't use cased ammunition that's older than 1898). Are any of those guns good in today's terms, no. But Felons can have them and replicas because they are not considered "firearms"

YES, felons can still own firearms.
They just have to assert, to the court, that they absolutely have the Right to self defense as outlined in the Second Amendment.
SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED!!!
