3 Ways To Remove Studs

A stud is a bolt that does not have a bolt head to twist it off. Studs contain threads on both ends but the center body of the stud may be thread free and smooth. They are generally screwed into engine blocks to mount things such as water pumps, valve covers, intake and exhaust manifolds, motor mounts and helps to align parts during installation. I didn't even know those spark plugs tubes were removable. Would that be why some plugs are soaked in oil where the connector meets the back of plug?
