How-To use Chlorine Tablet and Recirculate Setting on Intex Sand Filter

Explains where to put chlorine/bromine tablet and what the recirculate setting does.

PLEASE NOTE - Although people do add tablets to the basket it's not recommended. A better option is picking up a tab float. When the filter is not running, the tablets will dissolve creating a very high concentrated amount of chlorinated water in your basket which can be highly corrosive to your equipment.

If you do add a tablet to the basket it's recommended to remove the tablet when not running the pump.

my saltwater combo system is not working well so I was thinking of using chlorine tablets. How much tablets do you use per week? and do you also pour chlorine liquid?

Newbie here, also not a fan of floating chlorine dispenser. Could I put chlorine tablets into basket and run filter normally or do I need to do the recirculate? Just wondering if recirculate is for effectiveness of necessity aka can I be lazy and just throw the tablets into the basket and run the filter like normal.

Hey I am new to this whole pool stuff. I just got my intex pool with a sand filter. I was told I don't have to put clorine. Is it necessary to put clorine in the pool and if I do whats the process. I would apprecite your help and thank you.

I have a pool water turned green. I have an in line chlorinator as well as a sand filter. If I put chlorine in the chlorinator and in the skimmer basket like you did here, would it help clear the water like when you shock it?? Or would I be better off just getting some pool shock?? Thanks in advance

Is the recirculate mode instead of using a chlorine floater in the pool or a checmconnect (this is a valve that attaches to the inside of the pool with tablet)? In terms of duration of each mode, it sounds like recirculation for a few hours each day to maintain the chlorine level, and backwash cycle bi-weekly (followed by rinse). Is that right?

How to get my pressure to go down on my sand filter pump I back washed an rinsed it but still pressure holding a 10 I even bleed the air from the filter this my second year using it do I need to change the sand already anybody know

Stupid idea. The chlorine will deteriorate your filter gaskets. Don't ask how i know.
