You didn't get honked at for not turning on red because you were in a Buick and therefore very old

Those engines have a supercharger bypass valve that doesn't close until higher up in RPMs or under heavy loads. That's why you weren't registering boost until later in the RPM range.

It looks cold as hell even in the video..

Since someone else already mentioned the bypass system on the supercharger, i can add that the performance shift does do something. It modifies the shift points as well as makes the shift itself a bit quicker.

You ever stomp the floor where the clutch should be?

Probably the worst gtp/L67 owner for this video😴😪 you can mod the piss out of that motor and no you don't need e85!? For FS you just need to know what your doing...

These were amazing road trip cars! Rode like a cloud, very quiet, and just enough room to be comfortable after a few hours
Hated the cheap leather like this one has. The velour upholstery was much nicer, quieter (not annoying creaky squeaky leather) and held you in the seat better, but I think all the supercharged Regals had leather standard

First rule of Indiana: the speed limit don't mean shit unless the cop is watching (and sometimes not even then.)

Edit: was this shot in Kokomo?

Can't tell if supercharger or power steering whine.

I owned one of these mine was. 2002 and it was a sleeper for sure. Great in the snow of NE Ohio and room for everyone! I had a buddy with a mercury marauder that was pissed to find that he couldn’t touch my old Buick. I got mine to push 12 psi with a pulley swap. The only complaint I had was I couldn’t keep axles in it for long...

My first car, I've only just recently replaced it, but I already miss it.

I wish you had a more knowledgeable l67 owner for this review

I almost bought a new 2000 grand prix gxp. On the test drive, the salesman told me to get on I-75 and mash the gas, we were going 100mph, before you knew it a cop was behind me! Got lucky because the salesman told the 👮 I was testing the acceleration. We also have "rails to trails" in Michigan. The paint creek trail is one of my favorite.

GM was always good drivetrains in mediocre cars. Especially '85ish on.

I had a new one in 2001, could not keep in out of dealer repair...GM build quality was so cheap and plastic. The engine didn’t give any problems tho, just everything else.

Good ol' GM interior Rubbermaid plastic build quality.

Wow this guy knows nothing about the car.

-Performance shift changes the commanded shift time to be shorter, and will command more pressure at the lines, making a firmer and shorter shift. Older transmissions will typically feel little to no difference because worn clutches will mean longer shifts and near maxed out commanded pressure (to the point it throws a code P1811)

-The L67/L32 has a boost bypass valve that diverts all boost under no or low load. It is actuated by vacuum so you will feel the blower once you are on it. You can bypass the valve at the vacuum lines (I had to do this when I broke mine by accident), the car will jump and buck since the blower is always on, kind of annoying.

-If you get a smaller pulley, most can get away with opening the exhaust, a colder intake, and tuning for no knock. An intercooler will help quite a bit and does not cost that much, but larger injectors are almost never needed.

-Most people tune their own with DHP or HP tuners, you don't have to "know a guy" unless you do not want to undertake tuning (which is not that hard these days).

The best description I heard of the Buick V6 engines were "Small V8 like torque, but with V6 economy". They all sound the same, though, and the super long geared transmission is a *bit* of a letdown.

This was a car I genuinely lusted after, as a teenager. Friends of mine did as well. I know a few lucky folks who owned them as well as Pontiac GTP's. One of the best engines ever.

I have a modified '04 GSX. I love it. Surprising muscle cars is a blast.
