Free Pattern Friday - Bubbles part 6 - Making the first of 3 quilts

Today, we are going to show you how to make a great scrap buster for beginners called Bubbles - part 6 - Making the first of 3 quilts. You can make this idea with coffee filters from the dollar store and it uses a lot of fabric strings. You can also use crumb blocks if you wish. I'll show you in the next videos what you can do with these fun blocks!

I wonder what it would look like if the backings alternated dark and light, and the direction of the strips alternated vertical and horizontal? It would give an overall pattern to the wonderful scrappiness.

Hoy cow there’s a lot of hours and fabric in your large quilt. It’s very nice looking. Sean’s wife (dog mom knits) also has a great podcast. I watch both.

I love this project. I bought some coffee filters and have been making string blocks. I have been having a really fun time. I like that quilt I am going to make one with bubble blocks.

From Gerry Ivkovich- I think I would use a solid for the back of each so I would have a secondary design on my quilt. Love your ideas. Blessings!

What a fun surprise---Sean is an old friend of my husband. I had mo idea he was a YouTuber! I'll enjoy running his podcasts while I'm sewing. Even though I have too many other UFOs to work on, I couldn't resist pulling out some crafting coffee filters and trying a few bubbles. I had ten done so quickly! These are really enjoyable. :)

I absolutely love 💕 this idea!!! I made 5 memory quilts for my sister and her 4 children using this idea. They we’re raw edge.
It was an amazing heartfelt journey. The quilts were to honour her/their husband/father . Sadly they also became a memory of their mother. She passed away within a week of receiving and gifting the quilts to her kids. Thank you for allowing me to share my story.
