Office web version is more than enough for most people. Beats Google Docs too for people like me who are familiar with the Office interface. But my only complaint would be no offline support. Google Docs has offline option for emergency cases which Microsoft should consider implementing too. Like Google Docs offline version, Office on the Web's offline would be limited too, so not a chance that Microsoft would lose business and people would stop buying MS 365

Useful video for letting people know MS Office, in whichever guise, is not worth the effort or expense. OpenOffice or LibreOffice both open source are far less hassle, totally compatible, and completely free.

Can someone still BUY Microsoft Office for a one-time price (even if it's several hundred dollars) instead of paying for it annually? I have a purchaser mindset, in other words, I don't rent or lease the items I plan to use for a long time. This includes my home, car, and software. (Fortunately, I am in a financial position that allows me to do this.)

I have a Surface Pro (2015) but am retired now and use Google (Gmail, docs, sheets) so do I need Office 365 that I've been paying annually?

I have a Windows PC, an iPad, and an Android smartphone (Samsung), so I cover lots of bases. I honestly didn't know I could get Microsoft Office for free from the App Store and Google Play! I'm going to get them for my devices. Years ago, I looked for Internet Explorer for these devices, but it didn't seem to be available. I don't know if Edge has become available for iOS and Android, but it doesn't matter. I am so much enamored with Chrome on my Windows PC and Android phone and Safari on my iPad that I am not interested. On my PC, I only use Edge once a month to pay my electric bill online because Chrome sends the electric company's website in an endless loop. (So does Safari on my iPad but not Chrome on my phone.)

Now that I'm retired, I really don't need MS Office. I use WordPad for documents off-line and Google Docs for everything else.

Hello again Tech Gumbo
Thank you again for another great video 👍 I have always thought Microsoft programs were very over rated and difficult to use! Maybe if you had all the training classes 🤔 Which I didn't have. Most of the programs that I come across are almost intuitive to use. Not Microsoft, why? Anyhow, in this crazy world of everybody copying each other. Is there anything I can use that is like Microsoft but way easier to use 😅 I'm applying for jobs. And the HR folks seem to Microsoft, again why? Anyhow, thank you again for another great video 👍
