I’ve been waiting for a review of this fantastic lens. And got one here sooner than I was expecting.

I must admit that the 35mm focal length is almost perfect for gatherings like parties and so on. But, for indoor use, a 28mm might be slightly more useful. It depends on the space.

Personally, if I ever shoot another party, I think I'm going to take with me equivalents of 28mm and 50mm. You can do it all with a 35mm of course, but I think I would prefer some variety.

However, you cannot do a wedding with just a 28 and a 50. You do need a tele zoom to get close-ups of guests at their tables and so on. Just IMHO. Maybe some of you have shot weddings with nothing longer than 50mm or maybe 90mm. If so, I can respect that!

Thank you for the Great review presentation as usual, and very pleasant pictures!! Only 30cm in shortest focus distance and the predictable field distances.
What an amazing lens this is!!

I have APO / ASPH 90mm f2 ; Do not know if is a great lens but I love using that lens. The 90mm is a pleasure to use, cherish it.

Well, I'll never become a 35 mm guy, but your video is very informative and well explained.

I am a big fan of the 28mm focal length and of the APO Summicron SL 28mm. I really hope they bring this lens to M mount in the near future!

Tri elmar (wate) has due focusing zone that goes down to 0.3m as well. Just a clarification

Hello. Really enjoy your video. I was hoping to put the APO-Summicron-M 35mm f/2 on the Hasselblad 907x and be my primary setup for both close up Food shots (0.3m), traveling (28mm equivalent), and portrait (F1.4 equivalent and crop a bit). But concerns about the vignetting on 907X/50CII and not enough DOF. Would appreciate any feedback with this setup

At 12:00, you compare sharpness but at difference crop percentages…. Kind of apples and oranges ?

I have a MP coming shortly. I don't however have a lens to mount on it. I'm still trying to figure out if it's worth money to get the APO Summicron or the ASPH Summilux. Because it's going on a 35mm film Camera and NOT a digital I am unsure of what i should do. I will be using this primarily for Street Shooting I like 50mm but this 35mm is something of Beauty.
Thanks.
