For what its worth yotricks has the Sage Pro pack that comes with a responsive bearing out of the box but also includes an unresponsive bearing and lube as well.

Great for learning both styles as well as learning bearing maintenance.

I just got one last week and brand new with the flat bearing, it dies quick. I might swap in one that’s broken in.

I think that was the one that came with a flat bearing and I put that concave in there.

I actually purchased 2 YoTricks Sage yoyos - one came with a ton of vibe, and the other had a slight/acceptable vibe. YoTricks actually sent me a replacement, which vibed as well. So, I'm just guessing that this is petty common. However, it's still a very fun and forgiving throw, and I don't mind the vibe - for the price :) PS. I absolutely love your channel - it's one of the highlights of my day! Great work, guys!

I've heard a lot of good things about the sage but I don't have one yet so I guess I might just get this now but these are one of my favorite types of videos from you because I'm trying to expand my collection of yoyos and this is really helpful so keep at it!

I use my Sage as my beater practice yoyo. I put a Magic gold 10 ball bearing in it and it flies like the wind now.

I'm a huge fan of the protostar, and want a new throw for when I'm outside. This is delrin, it should make a good daily carry right? Right now I carry the K1 and I love it but some variety is always nice.

The one star/sage seriously rocks for a cheap or beginner yoyo.

Actually, The Sage is the upgraded version of the One Star. The only difference is that the One Star comes stock with unresponsive bearing and The Sage comes responsive. The reason why The Sage is in the center of starter and advance tricks in Yotricks because the yoyo can be upgradable. They have a starter pack that includes an unresponsive bearing. Before, Yotricks was using a luminator to teach tricks. Then, few years after, the company that made the luminator stopped making them. So, YoyoFactory gave one of their designs to Yotricks to replace the Luminator in teaching tricks. Actually, YoyoFactory stopped producing the One Star beacause The Sage sold better in a certain amount of time. The Sage has more refine gap than the One Star. Try buying The Sage and compare both.

Nice glad i seen this in your channel. Was a toss up between the magic yoyo v3 and the sage as my starter yoyo. Currently have a velocity but cant quite get it set. Going to cost 40quid to have the sage shipped over from usa to the uk and 12quid on amazon for v3. So v3 and n12 shark it is :) any recommendations for good strings/lube/bearing purchases? I was thinking about the sage for my first yo yo (i got the velocity instead(pls do a review on the velocity)) but my mom only found the velocity. Btw nice vid!!!!

I reviewed the Sage a few months ago. I like it but I wouldn't be too quick to blame the bearing. That yoyo just dies quick. That's been my experience. check out my review called The Fantastic Plastics yoyo shootout on my other channel The Throw's Definitive.
