I’ve been tying my running shoes like that for the last 35-40 years. Trained and ran 12 marathons and never a problem!

This was a game changer for me. Thank you Coach Morgan and @therunexperience. 29 miles, 5.7k ft vert today, and my Hokas fit perfectly today. Locked in!

Lace tying tip: Loop one lace around the other and bring it underneath itself, in the start of the knot (ie. don’t cross the laces over each other, as the first step). Then make your loop and tie around it as you normally would. It keeps laces tied like double knotting, but is easy to untie.

Thank you Coach Morgan for this demo. Your instructions were clear, and simple. I just got a pair of Books in the mail today (never ran in Brooks), and thought they were too small. However, once I did the “heel tap” I had enough space b/w the toe box and my big toe. What a difference these minor iterations make ! 😊

I am so glad that I found this video! I have wide toes and a small heel. As a result, all of my shoes slip at the heel, leading to incessant blisters. This trick really helps, thank you!

A few years ago a shoe store guy showed me this knot and changed my life. I’ve only ran in either brooks and ASICS since then but it has worked for all the shoes I’ve used. I highly recommend if you can use this knot, try it out even if you don’t think you need it, it might help.

I run a lot because of being in the military. I had pain on my foot so I went to a shoe store that measured my feet, the lady did this method of tieing my shoe and It was so comfortable. I’m back here watching this vid because I forgot how she did it. Glad I found this. Thanks

That was so cute, I want to get a cat now! I started using the runner's knot last year, and it really does make a major difference in keeping my feet secure, and not moving around. Thank you for this informational, and adorable video!

The runners knot does help a lot, but I wouldn't say it works on every shoe, sometimes the fit of a particular model just doesn't suit your feet 👍🏃

🤯 thought some level of foot movement was something I’d have to put up with. Tried this knot and it improved an already well fitting shoe. Foot movement kept me from really pushing my pace. Can’t wait to test this on the road. Thank you for the video.

Youtube taught me the runner's knot a couple years back - definitely a game-changer for some shoes that just wouldn't otherwise work! Glad you're putting it out there as many still don't know about it. What's weird to me is that some running shoes out there are still being made without the extra eyelet. Not many, but they still exist!

Thank you for putting this out. I think we have very little demo about the runner's knot and I don't know why. Hopefully, this reaches a lot of runners. This is a game changer when I discovered this.

I did this on one shoe and left the other how i normally tie it. WOW mind blowing ! I’m never running without my shoes tied this way. Thank u

I just wanna say thank you! Even when I’m at home on a treadmill my heels would feel HORRIBLE after running. This has fixed my issue entirely ❤

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK Breaking in some trail running shoes for a race in a couple weeks and I was struggling to get the fit just right. Saw the extra eyelets but had no idea what they were for, so glad I learned about this!

I haven't had issues with my road shoes but on trails, because my shoe strikes the ground at many various & unpredictable angles I've felt some concerning movement within my shoes. I had recently watched this video & yesterday did hill repeats at a park with a lot of roots, rocks, & unsteady gravel so I gave it a try & it felt great. I felt more stable in my shoes, almost like being in a pair of hiking boots. Thanks Coach Morgan.

Also when you tie your shoes cross them twice instead of once before making your loops. When you do it this way you will find that by doing the extra crossover and then pulling tight, the laces won't loosen before you make your bow. If you only cross them once, as most people do and you did in the video, the laces loosen before making your bow.
