Hi Adri. I just want to say that your video was more informative and meaningful than any other I came across, which like you said, there isn't much out there. I'm just starting my PhD program this fall and am already thinking about my quals lol. Thanks so much for making and sharing this!

Hello! Thank you for the helpful tips. I am taking quals next Fall and preparing myself for it now. You shared some excellent points about active listening, responding with clarity, and sharing the excitement about your project with brilliant people. This made me think about my committee member selection a bit further. Anyway, thanks again for the content.

Please discuss the impacts on minority communities, yourself being one, as well as a reflection on the impact of academia on people who have disabilities, and Neurodivergence. Especially Autism, Asperger's Syndrome (yes, please use this diagnosis- it is my specific diagnosis and those of us with Asperger's Syndrome diagnosis are facing extreme discrimination and other minority related hardships because of our disability diagnosis. And it's not really something we can spend money on to get changed when in a PhD program).

So as yourself a minority person, please make a video on navigating the PhD program as a minority and include disabilities and other marginalized community members.

Thank you for your video <3

I'm curious how long before your QE did you start meeting with your PI biweekly to to discuss papers? I"m having a really hard time trying to get my PI to give me any feedback. He didn't even read my proposal! I'm also wondering how soon before your exam did you did you start spending 80% of your work day reading and writing. Thanks!
