Andrew Roy "Andy" Gibb (5 March 1958 – 10 March 1988) was an English singer, songwriter, musician, performer, and teen idol. He was the younger brother of Bee Gees members Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb. Andy came to international prominence in the late 1970s with six singles that reached the Top 10 in the United States starting with "I Just Want to Be Your Everything" (1977). And other three top 20 singles. He also collaborated with Olivia Newton-John in several occasions.

"Shadow Dancing" is a disco song that reached number one for seven weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1978. Albhy Galuten (who also produced this song) arranged the song with Barry Gibb. While Andy Gibb would have three more Top 10 hits in the U.S., this would be his final chart-topping hit in America.

The song was written by Andy and his brothers (Barry, Maurice and Robin Gibb) in Los Angeles, while Andy's brothers, the Bee Gees, were working on the film Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. "And one night," Andy would recall, "while we were relaxing, we sat down and we had to start getting tracks together for the album" (also titled Shadow Dancing, which would eventually hit #7 on the U.S. album charts). "So we literally sat down and in ten minutes, we had a group going, (singing) the chorus part. As it says underneath the song, we all wrote it, the four of us."

I was a huge fan of Andy's back in the 80s, I had posters of him all over my walls. I was in the 6th grade when he died and my mom came to school to tell me he had passed, I remember falling to my knees crying. I still love him and his music.

Have always love this Bee Gees sibling Andy Gibb. It's sad that he left us in a very young age just days after his 30th birthday.
