Make A Spring Tool Center Punch

This spring-center punch is a hand tool used to produce a dimple in a workpiece. It performs the same function as an ordinary center punch but without the need for a hammer. I have used two nos. 8mm allenky bolts and spring to make this center punch. I hope you enjoy this video.

I actually made a spring punch before seeing this. Instead of bolts, I used a rear hub bicycle axle (very hard steel), and sharpened a point on one end.
It's surprisingly powerful

If you want an harder point use a tungsten rod... One remaining part of a tig welder.... And for improve the visibility of the punch made, increase the angle of your tool... Bigger angle of grinding make a larger punch.
