Amid the lush Western Ghats of Kerala, Athirappilly was once a thriving haven for the great hornbills. Over time, as hornbill numbers began to dwindle, the local Kadar community was wrongfully blamed for their decline. Yet, in the face of adversity, the Kadar rewrote the narrative.
