Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Thursday accused NATO of whipping up tensions near China in a way that posed risks for Russia. "The South China Sea is now becoming one of those regions where NATO is not averse, as they once did in Ukraine, to escalating tensions," Lavrov told a news conference.

India will need to work through their own kidnapping syndrome where they've fallen in love with their captors.

India needs to decide which side it wants to be on this time next year. Russia or the West (assuming it doesn't want to ally with China).
Modi has dug a fairly deep hole and pushed India into it in terms of western public opinion. Trade embargoes and tariffs are on his horizon - but it can still be walked back if India decides Russia isn't a safe bet.

India wants to remain neutral and protect its own interests, but doesn't mind the cheap oil from a regime who invaded their neighbor. The US or EU aunt angels either but sadly one has to choose between the lesser of two evils, such are the unfortunate necessities of a globalized society :)
