5 tips to matching your plaids perfectly when sewing #shorts

I had loads of fun filming this short...so you will be sure to see more of them (which means, more of me.... I dunno if that's a good thing or a bad thing? lol). Anywhooos, here are 5 tips to matching plaids perfectly when it comes to sewing:
👉🏼1. Laying and cutting out your pieces correctly is half the battle. Seriously, this makes a huge difference and this is where you need to spend the majority of your focus because after its cut you cannot magically match your plaids in the sewing machine.

👉🏼2. Match at the seam line and NOT the cut line because you are not sewing the cut line together. I know I have repeated this tip throughout the plaid videos ... but it should be your mantra when working with plaids.

👉🏼3. Always check and recheck the matching plaid stripe at the seam line when placing in your pins at either side of the plaid stripe.

👉🏼4. Basting IS your best friend! Although make sure you are basting just a little wider than your seam allowance - this ensures that when you get to the sewing machine everything is in place (even beyond the seam allowance.

👉🏼5. Take your basting stitches out and press your work at every stage of sewing and check your work. Maybe you need to re-do? If you follow these tips... hopefully not!
