how is she not qualified if she has two degrees. you literally get a degree to verify that you're qualified.

Ok yes experience is needed too but earning 2 degrees should be enough to get you a reasonable starting/entry level job, not a call center job.

She's experiencing gaslighting from people like you. You get experience while obtaining your degree.

Money is not meant to control people rather it is meant to be put to work producing more money for you. You cannot build wealth without putting money in its rightful place.

Some degrees ARE centered around experience. College forces you to apply the knowledge as well. I'm a music major and i perform just as regularly as professional musicians do.

I doubt customer service is what she’s qualified in I’m fairly sure it’s something else. She literally studied for years to be competent in a subject under the false pretense of being able to work in her field. The lie that ‘ it’s just an entry position ‘ is so pervasive it’s sickening.

Most people with masters HAD TO DO INTERNSHIPS to get that degree. Give them the damn job AND TEACH THEM THE NUANCES OF THAT PARTICULAR POSITION. People are too fucking lazy to train people anymore. 🙄 Someone had to teach you how to ride a bike. They showed how the bike works. The pedals move, the break stops you. The handles turn. Now GIVE THEM A CHANCE TO RIDE THE BIKE and then train them further to learn THAT SPECIFIC bike. 🙄

I’d rather hire someone with 5 years experience and no education than someone with a masters and no experience.

While your in college getting your degree, if possible, try to get a part time or an internship that's inline with your degree so you gain some experience and knowledge. If you you do that the whole time your in college you'll gain at least 4 years of some sort of experience.

People are forgetting that if a company is hiring they want to hire someone. If all of them aren’t hiring you there is something you are doing wrong

Nah I got one better for y'all from personal experience. A Bsc. Computer Science degree, 13 years of experience in IT with 4 being in a Senior SME role at a Fortune 500 cloud provider, 14 certifications....and still can't find a job after a month of being laid off!

It’s all about connections unfortunately, people have to like you because someone ELSE said they liked you. Socializing is key

No one here can even say what state Rider University is in without looking it up.

This is why college is for working hard, not for partying. I was working a job, volunteering within my program, taking summer classes, and still had time to socialize responsibly. I changed my major halfway through and still graduated on time. Jobs took time and effort to come by, and interviews sucked, but I made it work. Negotiating your worth is a huge part of job hunting, too. My first job wanted to put me into a low level position and I negotiated my way into a much more exclusive department at a higher wage. Don’t expect people to hand you things just because you have a degree but know your worth enough to fight for it.

You guys are out of touch with your assessment. She's insinuating she can only find one job that anyone out of high school can do without a degree, I'm assuming at an income that won't even begin to pay off student loans.

The american corporate system has learned that 90% of the jobs they think require degrees really just require critical thinking and effort, so they tend to want you to know like anything about working.

She should have considered the trades as a viable alternative before pursuing higher post-secondary education.
