[Verse 1]

Your sons meet me daily,
A matter to be done.
You’re finding it harder and harder,
It’s been years since you won.

[Chorus]

Take up my storage, it’s all your-idge,
Hot, cold, perfect porridge.
Take up my storage, it’s all your-idge,
Goldie, Goldie, Goldie-uh.

There is something so utterly heartwarming about how Jack portrays children - they are so sweet and they make the cutest sounds. I've seen a lot of different ways that people represent kids in art and music and the way Jack does makes me so unbelievably happy for some reason.

Going through the comments, I’m surprised no one has mentioned that he is singing about someone named Goldie, and also about “hot, cold, perfect porridge”. His wife was Goldie locks.

if anyone’s wondering “where jack is” since he hasn’t uploaded in a while, he’s been working on a halloween short with adult swim called opal, it’s on youtube and 100% recommend checking it out. (and i almost forgot about the song he put out on jacks micropop!!) i imagine he’ll probably take a break after creating that long of a story. so give him some time

I was half expecting Goldie to come back at the end and say "I'm back from my day trip to Wisconsin" and "You bet your sweet ass I brought cheese hats"

"He's working on something big, so don't worry." Even if he isn't working on something big, a break is still okay!

My mom passed away from cancer back in February of 2020. My dad has been in an on and off low since, and sometimes he'll listen to music that reminds him of her. He even has our dog in the room with him by his chair. Something about this scene shows such a small reflection of that same kind of quiet sadness, a melancholy after losing a partner. Even when there's other people still in your life looking after you and others enjoying the simple pleasures of the outdoors, you just calmly sing about your lost love. Change "Goldie" to "Rosie, " and it's very much close to home for me

I love how he was just singing a song about a dead relative or his wife, then his daughter comes in and just says dinner is ready. It totally changes the mood for only a second, but I love it

Jack. You are a man that we will never have again. And I'm glad you came around during these times, to give us quality videos like this.

This has such peaceful vibes. It feels like acceptance. I know a lot of your stuff is meant to be nonsensical, but I just recently went through a loss and I'm hoping to feel like this about it one day.

Ok… contrary to popular belief of Goldie being his wife, I think that Goldie might be the daughter who butted in during the song for dinner. Though she is still alive, the dad is mourning the younger version of Goldie. This explains the scene of him watching almost somberly towards the playing children. The stuff in the storage might also belong to her. I’m not good at making theories for this stuff, but this is just my interpretation of the video

We don't all get deep interpretations but we all want Goldie back.

I think the kids are him and Goldie and he’s remembering them hanging out when they were little, laughing and playing together

Jack treats sorrow so kindly. The art itself is surreal, but the big picture successfully communicates something intangible and universal that can't be expressed with words. So grateful to have listened to his art.

When Jack is gone for a long time you know he's cooking up something good
