So you can become a member on my YouTube channel now (there’s a pun here somewhere…)
Being a member means you get 30 exclusive videos, all the artwork, all my scripts, a live stream every weekend, exclusive emojis and some other stuff I probably forgot, but… it’s totally worth it. Trust me bro. Link is here:

It's about time that we talk about Hercules. Greek mythology's greatest hero, riddled with wrong information, inconsistencies, and... non-heroic stuff. Let's start with problem number one: His name was Heracles or Herakles, depending on your preferred spelling Hercules was the name the Romans gave him — Hercules is the son of Jupiter.
With that out the way, let's move on to problem number 2: Most of the time... Heracles really was not a heroic man. This man has an insanely high body, count, and... it all started with him sending his whole family into the afterlife: Wife and children. So those 12 labors? They are the world's most epic community service. But... let's break down Perseus' great grandson Hercules bit by bit in this episode:

Episode 2 Of KUWTGG Season 2: The Age Of Heroes — Heracles, aka Hercules

Notes:
When it comes to Heracles — who I will refer to as Hercules in these notes, (even though it's wrong, but... it's the bigger keyword....), there are so many stories that it was impossible to fit them all in one video. He was the Superman of the time — quite literally: Everybody and their mother had a Hercules tale, so he differed from region to region and his timeline is all over the place. Really think of him like a comic book character, existing in various series, spin-offs, timelines, etc.
That's why I left out one story: The Gigantomachy, where Hercules helps the gods debate the giants. The problem is that it completely messes with the timeline, since, technically Hercules can’t really be there, since it happened shortly after the titan war, which is long before Perseus, his grandfather was born.

For all accounts and purposes Herakels was just added by poets for no reason. Like adding Batman to world war 2 in a What If story.
You get me?
Thats on top of the gigantomachy kind of just being a remake of the titanomachy, so… yeah there are many reasons I left it out, since it messes everything up, but maybe I will give it its own video...

I also left out the part where Hercules was enslaved for three years after he killed Iphitus — enslaved to serve Queen Omphale, and he had to do women’s work and wear women’s clothes, while she wore his lion skin and club. But again…. That severely messes with the timeline of Herakles meeting Deianira and taking Iole captive, so… I left it out because it would make things too complicated. Just do know that somewhere there is a version of the Iphitus story, where Hercules is enslaved by a queen.

And those man eating horses? It is said that Alexander The Great’s Horse, Bucephalus, which was genuinely legendary and conquered the world with Alexander — it is said that this horse is a descendant of those horses.

Get All My Artwork & Support The Channel:

I get a lot of questions about my artwork and where it’s from or rather who draws it. Well the answer is that I create it — I don’t draw it. I use AI to create the artwork, using specific prompts, specific style influences from 18th and 19th century artists, and I spend about 10 hours per video just on the artwork. Each video has roughly double the artwork of what you actually see in the video, so a lot of it is unused.
The good news about that is that you can get all that artwork on my Patreon:
The artwork I do use, and the artwork I don’t use.
Plus, by subscribing to my Patreon you are making a major contribution to Briefed and helping me to keep this channel going, because this is my full time job and the survival of the channel and quality of the videos greatly depends on said support. In return for supporting, you get more than the artwork though — you also get access to exclusive videos and you can download every video you see on here to download and keep.
If you choose to become a Patron — thank you. I do not take it for granted.

Footage:
In the beginning and throughout, I used a clip from the 2014 Hercules. Then a clip from Blood of Zeus. The movie scene is from Crazy Stupid Love, and the other bits are from Game of Thrones.

- Bach - C Major Prelude
