Opening Conversation for Alex Katz: Theater and Dance

In celebration of the exhibition, Alex Katz: Theater and Dance, the Colby College Museum of Art presented an opening day conversation between artist Alex Katz, curator Robert Storr, and Michael Novak, Artistic Director of Paul Taylor Dance Company, moderated by Colby Museum Katz Consulting Curator Levi Prombaum.

Storr and Novak joined Katz to discuss how the exhibition came together, highlight the extraordinary designs, sets, and paintings on view, and share more about Katz’s indelible contributions to the worlds of experimental dance and theater during the last six decades, including his collaborations—more than sixteen original productions—with the legendary Paul Taylor.
