Hi Rebecca, great video!

Sadly, I applied to study materials science at Trinity and got rejected a few weeks back. I know this sounds like typical Oxbridge reject. But I was pretty confident I'd get in, when comparing myself to others and my passion for materials science.

My interview feedback said they noted a lot of good points and one of two bad points was that I had difficulty in the model maths problem. However, I do further maths and did not struggle on this question, but had to stop halfway as the interview came to an end.

My interviewers were Michael and Jan. I met Michael at an open day and he was nice and remembered me at interview.

I am seriously considering reapplying next year and taking a year in industry, as I believe I was a hairs width away.

I have an offer from imperial, but imperial generally doesn't appeal to me much at all, and I think it would take a few years to settle in.

Do you have any advise? Do you know anyone who reapplied and got in? Is it okay to, and should i email the interviewer(s)?

What do you think of the book made to measure: new materials for the 21st century?

I am going to do A levels in Maths, Chemistry and Economics, do you think that these would be an good combination of A levels?

Do you recommend that I do A level Physics instead of Economic or am I ok?

Do you have to be more of a practical person to do Materials Science? I've never really considered myself good at practical things but the course looks interesting!
