I would pause the game in this section and pretend to be "Metroid" (or actually Samus, c'mon I was only 5) and turn up the TV really loud. I'd jump around my front room, on and behind the couches, pretending to sneak around and shoot stuff. Same with the "escape theme", no wonder I like parkour now

Super Metroid has the BEST music score, I have ever heard on the SNES (with DK 1 and especially 2, trailing right behind it). Man... So epic. This is the game that made me go out and buy a sound system, so I can really crank the volume and bass up.

This song still sends chills down my spine like it did back in 1996. When I used to play this I always thought thought it was rather strange how Brinstar can go from being bright, green full of life with cool funky music, to red depressing music by going though one door lol
