Years ago I use to work in a rock quarry and I know that water blue color very well. It comes from the lime leaching out of the stone. If there were fish in there and you were to touch them it would shock you at how much slime they would have on them. It’s a reaction to the lime in the water.
The location I worked at had some water in the bottom of the pit but not a lot. The location close to the one I worked at had a huge pond/lake in the pit. We did strip mining, so it was more like making a hole straight down instead of into a wall like this one. Anyway, they hit a cave at that mine after blasting one day. The hole was already over 400 ft down at this point. The pit immediately started filling up with water. The cave connected to another entrance that was under water in the river that’s near by. It was all they could do to get all the drivable equipment in time. They tried to blast it shut and using concrete blocks on both ends eventually but nothing worked. It’s a little over 300 ft deep, has great fishing as the fish from the river go in and out of it.
My dad worked there when it happened, and as a kid I could go fishing there on the weekends. If anyone is interested look up Vulcan Materials ( good place to work back then ) in Sevierville TN. You can easily see the water on Google Maps. The river has a sharp bend right next to it, then a bridge goes over it, and then there’s an old dam and mill. That sharp bend in the river is where the cave is.

Imagine if you could go everywhere the water flows. Millions of miles of caves no human will ever know of. Our world is so amazing!

Every time I watch one of your videos I can’t help but think that the deeper these caves get they start to compare to a digestive track. The earth seems to be breaking down minerals and digesting the earthly elements and turning them into secretions and other minerals. It’s so cool to think and learn how “alive” this earth is.

Very dangerous! No one had a air monitor. You can run into a lots of gases built up in mine specifically the abandoned one lol. I’m a miner Methane gas and a H2S gas is no joke. Be careful and love the video👍

Beautiful and terrifying at the same time. Happy you made it back out safely.

You guys be careful and make sure to take air quality testers with you. If it felt hot that could be from geothermal activity coming from somewhere deeper in the cave. That would explain the deep blue color of the water if it slowly traded its oxide for a sulfide. Which would also explain those black veins in the rock. Could also be why the mine was shut down.

You guys ought to bring
🌟chalk🌟 with you to mark your way. There’s so many little cave openings, like you said: you could easily get lost… 🥾🙀🥾

Thanks for showing me, it's unbelievable that you actually enjoy this. I wouldn’t go down there sliding and crawling in the muck for any amount of money.
