48fps looked pretty detailed and fluid, I liked

I thought 48fps worked very well for fast action scenes, and scenes with a lot of action on screen because it removed motion blur so you could take things in. Apart from that I think I prefer 24fps for walking/talking/normal scenes. I think a mix of the two would be the way forward, but for now its all or nothing. I still think you should see for yourself, maybe after 24fps. Apart from that the movie itself is amazing, I think.

48 3D HFR for me... I'd have been happy with 24 but I am very glad to see 48 for myself to make up my own mind about the format. I like digital and pristine looking stuff on my HD set so I think I'll like it.. hopefully

Ive seen it in 48 fps and 24 fps, and 48fps is INCREDIBLE, never seen such clarity, 24fps looks sooo weak compared. Problem with 24fps is fuzzyness and blurring, bit like going back to dvd after watching blu ray or going back to playstation after playing pc games on 1080p. Havent watched it on 2d probably amazing, would choose 3d or 48 fps 3d if i were you, 48fps sweeping vistas and CGI will blow your mind!!!

I didn't notice that. However, some scenes did seem really clear for being 3D. Maybe it's because it was shot in 48 and down converted. Who knows? Overall a great movie regardless!

Let me know. I will be seeing the 24 Real D 3D.

Though the 2D version was supposedly displayed in 24fps, did anyone feel as if though SOME scenes still had a glossy effect of higher frame rates?

Did you see it already? Also, what format?

His budget is way up. LOTR trilogy films were around $94 million and Hobbit is $200 million

Just watched it in 2D 24fps.

Don't waste your money blurred and out of focus every time the camera pans.

If like me you can't watch 3D (wonky eye) then the Hobbit trilogy is just unwatchable. I will not be wasting my money on the next two parts unless all projectors get up graded to 48fps - Yeah Right that's going to happen!
