I love them in their own respects. I love love Dave’s shreddy solos in Wake ups dead and my last words but I love Marty’s melodic stuff in Tornado of souls and Hangar 18.

Man how is this not one of the most played videos on YouTube? These guys are incredible! I wish I would have seen them in the 90s. Good thing they’re still killin it in the 2020s

They are both great. Marty has his own vision Dave has his own as well. I think judging by the legasy Dave's compose lots of cool song, i didn't hear so many from Marty. As a musician i'd top Dave. As a guitar player, well, both are the top notch guitar players. It's like to compare Freddie Mercury and Brian May, they do different stuff to make the song brilliant)
I hope they'll play together someday)

Honestly they're both really talented and i can't compare. But i love Marty more, and i love his melodic playing, its very unique to me.

One is melodic and is more known as a soloist rather than a rhythm guitarist and writer. I thought dave sounded like shit as a soloist when he was in metallica but he does have a few really cool solos in megadeth.

There are a lot of times though where dave just stays locked in to a 3 note per string pentatonic pattern and goes nuts and it tends to sound really similar
