The Fiat Panda is endearing and cheap, but its small size has its drawbacks as well.

I have the 4x4 Panda 0.9 Twinair turbo engine model. I have to say it's a great little, fun car to drive, the steering is very light, easily turn the wheel with one finger. It has a good amount of space for a small car, 3 seats in the back plenty of headroom. Perfect city or town car, very easy to park, cheap insurance and £30 tax per year, I'm getting well over 50mpg. The engine is only an 875cc twin cylinder (cheaper servicing) but you soon forget that when driving, it's very agile and nimble, the 6 speed gearbox helps to keep the revs in the power, between 2k-3k rpm it is most happy, I like the sound, some don't but I think it adds a lot of character to the car. The 4x4 version sits a bit higher, has permanent 4wd but most of the power goes to the front wheels until the stability control detects front wheels slipping then it gives more power to the back wheels there is a control to 'lock' the diff electronically so power goes equally to all 4 wheels up to 30mph! So winter driving will be greatly improved. I prefer the high up seat position, rather than struggling to sit in a low car, visibility is very good. Very happy with it so far.😎👍

More people will enjoy sitting higher than lower in the driving seat.

I used to ignore people saying Whatcar is biased towards German owned car brands but it seems you do like to favour them. Maybe they really are always the best, but I don't think so, that doesn't match my own experience enough.

but i mean, the interior on this is much better looking, and from what I've seen in showrooms it looks well made and uses better materials, oh and the up doesn't have the little touches this one has, like the panda letters on the plastics, I mean c'mon it's just so cool.

I had this as a hire car. I think it was the 1.2 version and had extras like air con, remote locking, trip computer etc. This is a very decent car and didn't miss a beat in the 1000kms we covered. The car averaged 55mpg (according to the long distance metre) even in heavy stop start traffic and the odd thrashing. The ride could be better on poor road surfaces and tyre roar is intrusive at speed on the coarse tarmac the Italians seem to have, plus 1st gear can be jerky and boot could be bigger.

go for the Lounge version and many of these inconveniences will not be... ;) I still think that is the best city car in the world!:D

Panda is the best city car. Whatcar always pushes German cars, it so cheap. Are you trying to say that vw up is better equipped and more spacious?

However the car is good at motorway speeds and 5th gear is good enough for 80mph/130kph before the engine became to noisy. I liked the seats which never gave me back or bottom ache and rear leg room is good. The drivers seat was manually height adjustable so I was able to get a decent driving position. The steering was light so the city steering option wasn't needed.

All in all the car is full of charm and is good in many areas but I found road noise to tiresome for long distance driving.

This vídeo is very biased! I tottaly disagree with Whatacar review. My father recently bought this car and it is very spacious in the back

You didn't mention that last year's Fiat Panda's gas consumption data was, pardon me if I will sound too harsh, FAKED.
