Well, I just took my fimi se v2 2022 out in the rain first time I don’t know where it is found another drone is out frolicking in the rain having a blast lol but no problems at all sport mode it’s fast came in wipe off pull battery no wetness at all there’s a little groove it sits into that why nothings gets in and look the top power button sealed too Out a few times return home right on the pad. Ran great now I broke my fear of the rain. It’ was built to go out in the Mountain top for search and rescue because you could get misting rain and snow they wanted it to go out and come back that’s why they made it specifically for a search and rescue drone . It worked great.❤

This is a good intro review for the new FIMI. Time will tell it's pros and cons. I have Autel and DJI, however most FIMI drone videos I see posted on Utube look good to me! It's such a tough market to compete with DJI. Happy New Year Keith. Thanks for going out there in the cold weather.

Obstacle avoidance I see as an invitation to crash your drone no matter who makes it available hehehe. FIMI told me RID is in the FAA FCC whatever system. I've seen allot of Twilight Zone shows resembling dealing with agencies and RID is no exception. FIMI serial numbers aren't the same length so eh. Their drones are great in turbulent force 8 winds.

Just purchased FIMI X8SE 2022 V2 two years ago. The drone is okay, but loud and if I change direction in sportmode, I can see the propellers in the camera. A few weeks ago I wanted to fly again, I charged my three batteries and made some videos. After the batteries where discharged by use, I was not able to recharge them again. All of the three batteries where destroyed at once. I checked the cells one by one, there where OK, but however I was not able to use them again. FIMI support told me, I have to discharge and charge the batteries all few months. Thats a joke. The drone is actually not worth 100€ anymore for one batterie replacement. I bought DJI mini 4 pro now...

Big fan of FIMI drones. got the the first F8 with three batteries and it's still going 6 years later. THe fact they shoot in F-Log is a very under rated feature which makes them incredibly good value for film makers. You always had to get third party ND filters for them though, especially in full sun, to shoot at 24fps and still nail your exposure and shutter speed. Dawn and dusk with just a CPL filter produces some incredible footage for the price.
I actually wrote to them after a year of using it and one of the things I said is I'd be happy to pay more for a version with a higher quality Sony or Canon sensor so three generations in seeing a mid tier Sony light sensor in the new version's camera makes me think it's upgrade time. Don't need the range but for the video quality and new gimbal, maybe.

What's the skinny on Fimi geo-fencing? I see they have a no-fly zone. Do they require unlocking and permission to fly like DJI does?

Interesting... I would compare this to the Mini 4 Pro because of the sensor size... The only other thing I noticed was the lack of panning shots showing the horizon. Fimi has been notorious for crooked horizons while panning the drone or flying sideways.

When I see your videos I already know I am going to spend that money. If that drone can endure rain or snow fall as advertised it could be a game changer and give DJI, Autel, Swellpro & Skydio runs for their money. Especially Skydio because they decided to go privatize for more commercial use. I didn’t catch the weight as I can see having a 107 to even launch this. Would love to see you take it out in some rain or snow
