Hello, I love your positivity! So encouraging! I have super fine hair that doesn't grow past a certain length. I do the silk pillows and hair wraps but definitely get end tangles. I wash and regular condition ~every 5 days when my head itches. I just trimmed my ends and am doing a honey oil hair mask for the first time. I use a denman brush with only 4 rows (removed 2). I have been natural hair for 35 years. When I get fed up (brushing, tangles, no growth) I've shaved my head or once grew locs for 8 years. I had a Swedish mother so no training or tolerance for spending large amounts of time on my hair. I wear my hair out natural or up - which sounds like where the tangling problem is. Also sounds like I need to commit to trimming every 3-4 months. It sounds like trying the no conditioner, but doing deep conditioning is something to try. It sounds like using leave ins but not oils to moisturize? I definitely need to learn protective styles I can leave the house with - with fine hair they look ridiculous on me imo. I don't have any wig experience and am afraid of feeling like a fraud or being discovered.

Nice growth hack. I love wearing wigs as an protective style. I either have twist or two braids underneath. My hair feels very dry when it needs moisture.

Helpful advice, if this works for your hair. Unfortunately, wearing wigs too much as a protective style causes me more breakage even though I always wear a satin wig cap and implement these tips. The back of my hair is especially the most sensitive and susceptible to breakage. In recent years, I tried wearing more half wigs because it was the less expensive protective style, but my length retention greatly suffered. I recently went back to wearing braids and weaves which help me retain length and thickness much better than wigs.

These are good tips but unfortunately i have to wash my hair weekly due to flaky scalp issues. I have been wearing wigs 4 yrs now but it hasn’t helped grow my fine strands

Hello!! Curlfriend how r you?? Thanks for sharing all of your awesome tips. You really have me rolling on the floor when you said wigs 🤣🤣😂😂😂. As a former beautician I would tell you yes!!! it's so nice and comfortable and it works for a lot of people. Myself I haven't been able to do it 🤣🤣😂 I just can't I can't my head feels so hot I don't know what's wrong with me! I've tried so many times to do it because I hate doing my hair. I'm a lazy natural but I keep up the good work with my hair, I love doing other people's hair yes, but when it comes to me no no. Seriously it's a great thing to do because you're not touching your hair you're not manipulating your hair. It's awesome your hair does grow truly, but for me I just can't do it I can't! When I first got sick with Systemic Lupus all of my hair fell out and my hair was to the middle of my back. My hair was so long and healthy, but whatever little strands I decided to let it go 🥺. My mom ( God bless her soul 💜 )said get a wig and everyone said put some weave, and I said No shave it All off! I used to date this Italian guy and he felt so proud walking with me and my bald headed head LOL LOL and I used to model the same time and going to medical school trust and Believe I loved it, I will try one day one day I may be texting you saying Curlfriend I'm wearing a wig!!
