Best Fender amp in decades. For me, it’s a holy grail amp. It sounds soooo good overdriven (with Tone King attenuator)—completely shuts down the haters who say Fenders don’t sound good cranked. Gotta turn down the bass when overdriven with some pickups (alnico 5 for example) but most of my guitars are alnico 2 pups, and the bass holds together fine with them. Anyone who complains this amp doesn’t have a master volume doesn’t understand that the power tubes being overdriven are where this amp shines.

The 68 sounds excellent, but if buying one means the end of the Two Princetons gag, then I'm against it!

I own this amp, and it is by far my favorite Fender amp! Sound is sooo good!

That amp sounds really great and it looks like you were having one of those bonding moments with a piece of gear that really works for you - I hope you took one of those amps home

I like my 68 Fender Custom Twin Reverb. The only downside it's heavy (68lbs) but the sound is PERFECT.

I have one of these and it’s absolutely the best of the silver face line!

It's such a great sounding, versatile, lightweight, and excellent pedal platform amp! I absolutely love mine, so much so that I'm buying a spare because I couldn't live without it should my primary need repair.

It’s basically a one ch version of the 68 deluxe with 6L6’s for more headroom and a little less midsey sounds. Awesome!

I don’t know. I refurbished an old Princeton a few years ago, and it was the absolute best damn amp I have ever heard. FAN-TAS-TIC!
BTW: I just got my Azor Reverb pedal from you today! Woohoo!! Many thanks!!

Weber Mass is an awesome attenuator that you can switch for 2, 4, 6, 8 ohms, with line out that has a useful eq, and very little tone suck. I use it on vintage Super Reverb, Bassman, Bandmaster, and the new Custom Pro Reverb.

I probably could’ve listened to the on-board reverb the entire video. Sounds awesome.

The nicest sounding Attenuator I've heard on YouTube is the Suhr Reactive Load Box/IR.

Hands down the best Fender amp in a long time. I just wish that they added a half power switch to them. The 68 pro reverb is my favorite but I settled on the 65 princeton due to the lower output for home use.

The real original Pro Rev's were actually 2 12" designs with the speakers arranged kind of
diagonally in the open back cab...(still 40 watts!)...it was considered a poor man's Twin Rev.
I think they were Black Face until 69'... and brought back as a Chrome Face model in 1970 or 71' (I think!).
AND they were all 2 channel amps!!
So there was never a 1968 model with only 1 12" speaker and 1 channel that I know of...maybe this is more of a high power DeLuxe Rev. than a classic Pro Rev.
I remember buying my brand new Pro Rev. for $385 from the String's & Thing's store on Woodward Ave in suburban Detroit back in 1973...my neighbors HATED me ...LOL:)

Really enjoyed the mix of jams played on this amp truly showcasing a whole plethora of possibilities if one was to travel back to the 90s and embody the soul of Joe Bonamassa back then but now.

Looking forward to getting one of these. I’ve been lugging around a ‘76 Fender Twin Reverb since the age of 18. 80 lbs of sweet tone but now that I’m in my early 50’s, not so cool about the weight. In fact, we have a gig tomorrow night at an upstairs venue and I’m not looking forward to those steps.

FYI, Two Notes Captor for attenuation, especially as inline with -20dB. I was stunned how much I love them and how much I need to use them ...
The Harley Benton PA-100 one is inexpensive, but isn't without an effect on tone that is hard to pinpoint. Scratchy? Hmm, not quite the word. Hollow? Again, not quite the word, but there is an negative effect on tone.

It’s a fabulous amp. No design is ABSOLUTELY perfect for everyone or every situation. I have not noticed any significant rattle with mine… I suppose at SUPER high volumes but the overall experience is excellent. I was one of the first players to get one after they were released. I gig REGULARLY with it. It’s an absolute pleasure.
