how MOB GRAZING results in amazing pasture growth: it's cattle psychology!

Do you want lush, high energy pastures? Then mob grazing is the answer! After a spring spent grazing large paddocks, the grass has gotten ahead of us, and we're starting to mob graze our Dexter cattle. In this video, I explain the benefits of mob grazing and how to set up mob grazing paddocks, and how mob cattle psychology works. I also discuss the pros & cons of other grazing methods, including whole-field, rotational, and strip grazing.

It now makes sense to me. There is a difference between mob grazing and rotational grazing. Think you are the first video I have seen that articulates that. 👍

Pete, I am a suburb dweller 25 miles east of Atlanta and just discovered your EXCELLENT channel. You are so knowledgeable and articulate, it is a pleasure spending 10-20 minutes with you!

You are absolutely right about the welder! I have had mine for years and have run 5, 10 pound spools with no problem. Love the videos and hope you keep up the great strides in the small farm world.

I always learn from you. Today I learned why it is important to move the back fence when you are strip mob grazing.

Dont you just love Sammy. There are always some who have a friendlier and placid temperament .

Great film, gives me food for thought about my 32 acres where I have ( usually ) about 23 cows for 5 months. The main planning issue is having water easily available. In one of my fields the trough is about in the middle and so I can use electric fencing to make segments like orange segments but where the trough is at the edge it isnt so easy.

G'day Sir, just found your channel and found it informative and refreshing, i take my hat off to you.
I am a third generation beef farmer from Australia, i had it easier than you, i had the influence of my grandfather and father to guide me to where i am today and am thankful to these great men.

I can see a great future to you and your family if you continue in the path your following.

Your presentation style is awesome! Great blend of well explained theory with the ever necessary practicality of experimenting, observing, adjusting and remaining flexible. Thanks so much. I have a German short haired pointer just like Sammy. A fantastic animal with a job but wants nothing more than to be with the boss.

Thanks for another great video. Are you hoping to eventually be able to keep your cattle on pasture through winter or any part of winter as well?

Learned a lot from this, thank you! New to our property and trying to figure out how much permanent fence to build before jumping into large animals. Seems like you do almost everything with temporary wire?
