You can also perform the "Blunt Strike" shortsword combo while holding a longsowrd and shield. Like the Run-Through (which has the same input), it causes enemies to get knocked down.

Run through is probably the most OP combo since you can just stun lock the enemy especially in the tourney

I love run through lol. Wish you could attack your opponent when he's actually on the ground because of it but that'd probably make it more op than it is.

Doubling is wonderful against dudes wearing heavy armor but no visor.

Doubling and Run Throught are the most deadlies ones imo.

All the combos are so cool and effective when you can pull them off.

But enemies fairly often interrupt them with master strikes.

From what I’ve seen in the gameplay footage for the sequel I’m hoping they’re putting less emphasis on master striking and making combos and clinching more viable to balance it out.

Only thing wrong with clinching is that as far as I can tell many weapons don’t have quite enough reach for you to get a strike in quickly after the clinch except if you push some one into a wall or fence or something.

Man, they did my favourite technique (irl) dirty. The duplieren in game is so slow. I'm a HEMA longsword instructor, and I duplieren at least twice as fast. Also, it doesnt need that much setup. You can literally just oberhau into a duplieren lol

I have tried many times doing the run through combo for longsword. But to no avail

too bad they're mostly ineffective in a real fight. Enemies ranging from drunken peasants to Cumans will interrupt your combo attempt with a parry.

the sword animations in this game make it look like you're doing no damage, just giving light taps. kind of shit
