me going back in time to 1996:
I'LL TAKE YOUR ENTIRE STOCK.
"what?"
GET THE MANAGER AND ASK HIM TO BRING OUT EVERY COPY OF EARTHBOUND YOU HAVE IN OVERSTOCK.
(store employees looking in horror while helping me load the products onto my semi truck filled to the ceiling with pallets upon pallets of earthbound)

Great video! I just finished emulating this on my steamdeck, I went in with zero expectations and was totally hooked! I played this right after Chrono Trigger and for whatever reason I was more into this one. Now I'm off to play Mother 3 with an english patch, I wish they'd bring this series back.

Great analysis for a Great game!
I had voted for you to play this one and like you, I didn’t get around to playing Earthbound until I was an adult. It’s funny that looking back at it with you through your review, I had forgotten about the annoying item management and getting stuck only to have to consult the guide book for ways to push through. Perhaps Earthbound has that power over its players, it becomes more fondly remembered over time for its charming vibes and imaginative world building more so than its complicated item interfaces and at times difficult spikes or stumps in progression.

Such as life right? It’s easier for me to recall on those memories of my childhood of riding bikes and playing video games all night long with friends during sleepovers, but harder to think back on the fact that life was still full of complications and rigid adult like rules that always got in the way of just having fun. Great work getting through the game and making this vid so quickly! You’re on a roll RNG, keep it up!

Respect for Original Hardware

3 items to store or retrieve just too brutal. Inventory management is definitely brutal. and yet its beloved by all!!

I haven't really played earth bound either. I remember the scratch and sniff game adverts in like egm and game pro. I wasn't much into turn based when I was a kid.

I'd been playing this game since it came out; 57 and still playing it. LOVE it.

(PS its setup and game play reminds me of DragonWarrior from 1980s)

also what you are saying about the Items storage...I wish the game programmers had given we players the option of dropping items that will never be used again (like the Magnet Eraser, etc.) They take up so much space in storage. BTW you can go to Ness's sister Tracy and trade stuff. She "is" Escargot Express. No money required and no "three things only" limit.

An evil being destroying the world might not be so bad in 2024.

Good video but those pauses between sentences are too long, they feel awkward, I'm gonna subscribe to see more
