“Be really rich and then buy my way into being President”

That line aged like a fine wine.

I really like how his whole family always knew his potential.

Bryan Cranston obviously gets all the praise he (very much) deserves for his portrayal of Hal, but Jane Kaczmarek absolutely dominated her role as well. Pretty sure the only reason she didn't get more love was because of the type of character she plays, but holy shit she absolutely nails it. She walked the "I'm gonna be a bitch but you KNOW I care about you" line perfectly.

“You look me in the eye and you tell me you can’t do it.”
Lois always knew how to motivate her kids, she just didn’t get as many chances as she wanted because she was too busy trying to keep them alive

I love how the last scene is Malcolm and Reese speaking to each other like true brothers.

I like how the last episode really wraps up the general message and show. Malcolm's family deals with so many struggles on a weekly basis. They want him to become president because he would bring light to the issues that they faced and many other families like them face, because he'd have experienced it. They need him to go through more because they want to make sure he knows what it's like and would care about people with lives like theirs. It's unfair for him and it has always been unfair for them and families like them. Life is unfair.

He’s literally grabbing his books and going to class. How is anyone confused about that fact that he’s clearly working as a janitor while he goes through school?

"and you'll want SO MUCH for them to like you, and they just won't, and it'll break your heart"

To this day. That has to be one of the realest moments in cheesy sitcom history.

People, he’s still attending classes. It’s called working while in school. He didn’t just become a janitor, it’s called working to put yourself through school.

Lois’ actress did a genuinely amazing performance in this scene

It's possible for a parent to have both abusive tendencies and accurate insight. As awful as that can play out, that absolutely happens in real life. Lois is a well-written and well-acted character because she's not just doing one thing. Through the sitcom layers, she feels like a real person.

One of the best endings to a series ever IMO. I'll never forget the, "Look into my eyes and tell me you can't do it" line. Goosbumps.

All this scene does is remind me of what an injustice it was that Jane Kaczmarek never won an Emmy for this show.

The fact that everyone BUT Malcolm knew gets me every time

“And you’ll be the only person in that position who will ever give a crap about people like us”

Powerful moment in a fantastic show.

"And you will want so much for them to like you, and they just won't."

This has hit home my entire life lmao. In university, in my professional life, in my "friend" circles.

"You look me in the eye and you tell me you can't do it." Gives me chills every time.

The final joke is... Actually all their kids were geniuses but they were too wrapped up in other things to notice. Reece was the next Gordon Ramsey, we saw Dewey excel at music, sport and a dozen other things but he'd already seen how much Malcolm suffered for being 'special' so every time Hal tries to force him into showing off or push him into something he gives up on his talent.

God bless, Jane Kaczmarek. The way she delivers the look me in the eyes line after everything else she did on that series is unbelievable.
