Lois was beyond awful to her sons in this episode and it exemplifies that she can indeed be a legitimately terrible mother at times and that she is far from being a blameless victim of her “inherently” bad children!

She is displacing all her anger and frustration over Hal’s potential cancer on to Reese and Malcolm for a minor mistake (the mud), not letting them know about the situation and treats them like convicts in their own home….

It’s no wonder why her kids are all screwed up!

I don't blame Reese for saying that. Lois, like many other occasions, was outta line and took it out on the boys and never once considered letting them in on Hal's possible cancer 🙄

Never say I wish you were dead to your parents… because eventually you will come to regret saying that to your parents I should know because I said that to my dad when i was a kid and he actually ended up dead now that I’m 25 years old I regret saying that to him wish my dad was in my life.

I often think parents expect/imagine some sort of emotional refinement in children and teenagers that simply is not there. Children are little, egocentric monsters and when it comes to teenagers who is trying to find their way in the borderland between childhood and adulthood you should multiply that with hundred.
