Firstly you shouldn’t have involved anyone else until you had gold in hand and a claim notarized with a lawyer on retainer. Second you should know the government can make whatever story/spin they want, and can draw out legal proceedings because their pockets are deeper than yours. An expensive lesson learned on what not to do when dealing with government or anyone when it comes to a discovery of valuable items.
